Real Challenges
The Real Challenges Contractors Face Online
Before Whissel Strategies writes a single ad or optimizes a single page, the team maps what is actually holding the business back. For most contractors, the picture looks like this:
- No local search presence: When a buyer searches for a contractor in their area, the businesses appearing at the top of Google's local results get the calls. Contractors without a properly optimized Google Business Profile and location-targeted website pages are invisible at the most critical moment.
- A website built for show, not conversion: Many contractor websites list services and show photos but fail to communicate credibility, define a service area, or give buyers a clear reason to reach out. A website that does not convert is an overhead cost, not a marketing asset.
- Zero content for project-specific searches: Buyers searching for kitchen additions, commercial fit-outs, or HVAC replacements want to find contractors who have done that exact work. Without content targeting those searches, a contractor is not part of the consideration set at all.
- Paid campaigns that burn budget: Contractors who have run Google Ads without a properly structured campaign often report paying for irrelevant clicks, calls from outside their service area, or inquiries for jobs too small to be profitable. Campaign architecture matters.
- Seasonal lead gaps: Many trades experience predictable slow periods. Without a marketing system building pipeline during busy months, those gaps become revenue problems rather than expected seasonality.
These are not problems a boosted social post or a basic website will fix. They require a structured marketing system.
